Meet Rowan and Eggy at Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter

Two animals now waiting at Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter offer prospective adopters very different kinds of companionship: Rowan, a young dog with a big presence, and Eggy, a cat looking for the right home.

Rowan is a male Siberian Husky and American Pit Bull Terrier mix, under 2 years old and about 65 pounds. The shelter describes him simply as “very handsome,” but his youthful age and size also make a meet-and-greet an important first step for a household considering adoption. Families can speak with shelter staff about Rowan’s needs, activity level and whether he may be a good fit for their home.

Eggy is a 2½-year-old male domestic shorthair. The shelter says he is waiting for his “purrfect family.” For a reader ready to add a feline companion, Eggy is an opportunity to learn more about his personality and care needs directly from the people who know him at the shelter.

Adopting a pet is a commitment that begins with the right match. A visit can help prospective adopters ask practical questions about a pet’s history, routine and the transition into a new home, while also giving an animal the attention it needs to find the right family.

Readers interested in Rowan, Eggy or another available animal may visit Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter Monday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m., or Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Current availability can change quickly, so prospective adopters are encouraged to check the full listing at njshelter.org and contact the shelter before making a trip.
