Walk of Hope Fundraiser Held in Long Hill Township

Despite rainy weather, about 50 people came out to support the second annual Walk of Hope held on Sunday afternoon, September 20, held in Kantor Memorial Park in Gillette. The walk was organized by the Haiti’s Hope ministry at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Stirling. It was held to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by the people in Haiti, and to raise funds to provide for the educational and nutritional needs of a small, remote village in Nanpol, Haiti, which is served by their “sister parish” St. Paul. Children were able to participate in some educational and fun activities, and there were snacks, homemade treats, beverages and ice cream for all. Father Cely, pastor o St. Vincent de Paul Church, led the group in prayer to kick off the walk. Everyone enjoyed some exercise, fellowship, and an opportunity to win gift certificates to several different local eateries. It was a fun time for all.
