Academy students complete grades nine through 12 while receiving in-depth instruction in a career pathway. Depending on the program, students attend the Denville campus or a participating satellite high school. The district says its academies combine academic requirements with hands-on, career-focused learning, internships and opportunities to earn college credit.
Programs at the Morris County School of Technology in Denville include animal science, artificial intelligence and robotics engineering, biotechnology, computer and information sciences, design, education and learning, global commerce, government and legal studies, health care science, law and public safety, multimedia and more. Satellite programs include aviation, business administration, environmental science, math, science and engineering, performing arts and sports medicine.
Families can attend information sessions to tour facilities, meet faculty and ask questions. Sessions are scheduled at the Denville campus on October 10 at 9 a.m. and noon and October 29 at 6:30 p.m. Additional October sessions are planned for programs at Morris Knolls, Morris Hills, Randolph, Roxbury and Jefferson Township high schools.
